Today, I didn't learn much. But I will share some thoughts swirling in my mind to keep up my writing.

1. AI Inference Demand

I think demand for AI inference will keep skyrocketing as more and more people adapt to LLMs. However, companies may find it difficult to earn profits from this demand because the market is so competitive and there is no clear winner in terms of the best model. Companies will have to subsidize pricing to grow their customer base. Also, their CapEx and OpEx see no sign of decreasing. Is this a reason why companies are focusing more on AI Infrastructure costs and cutting labor? I will do a thorough review on this topic in the future.

2. Zakat-eligible Remark

A friend remarked on the previous TIL that we will see Muslim political organizations in America slap "Zakat-eligible" on their front page. I found that quite hilarious and sad at the same time.

3. Meandering Thoughts on Private Self, Public Persona

The distinction of the private self and a public persona creates a mask. This mask breeds suspicion and uncertainty. To decipher this mask, the state/corporation resorts to the language of statistics to translate this uncertainty to some probability of certainty. This translation is itself an interpretive act: quantification frames people in particular ways and thereby reshapes the social reality it seeks to describe.. Thus, the phenomenon of surveillance?
